The Lenovo 3000 was actually introduced in early 2006 as a good mid level laptop line for the average person and incidentally fit what most people would consider one of the better laptops for students, unfortunately in 2008 the Lenovo 3000 line was replaced by the new IdeaPad for laptops and IdeaCentre as desktops.
